Centennial Celebration FAQs

Is there parking?

There is plenty of free parking available at Rosemary Hills Elementary School, 2111 Porter Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20910. The school is on the Lyttonsville side of the bridge and it is accessible from East-West Highway. We will have signs directing people to parking and there will be people directing you to available parking during the event.

For people coming from Georgia Avenue, parking also will be available in streets on the North Woodside side of the bridge. Please be mindful of the residents who live there and park legally.

Is the event suitable for children?

Yes, this is a family-friendly event and meant to offer opportunities for all ages to celebrate the Bridge. Parents are asked to supervise their children for safety of all, since the bridge crosses an active train corridor.

Is the event handicapped-accessible?

Yes, it is – most activities will take place on blocked-off streets immediately surrounding the bridge and will be accessible to mobility-impaired individuals. There will be a handicapped-accessible portapotty. The best parking for mobility-challenged individuals is on Hanover Street or Grace Church Rd near the bridge.

Should I bring a chair?

We will have some chairs available. For folks who want to sit during the formal program portion of the celebration, you might want to consider bringing chair.
